Sanity AI Automation
Automation is the difference between asking for one change and asking for two hundred. This page is about the second kind on Sanity: what can be done to many documents at once, what can be set to happen later, and — the part that matters most — what you are shown before anything runs.
Changing many documents at once
Not on Sanity. Its interface has no safe way to apply one change across many documents from outside, so none is offered — one document at a time is what is genuinely available here.
Setting something to happen later
Not on Sanity. There is no future-dating this product can set through the interface it uses here, so anything prepared stays as it is until you publish it yourself.
Putting something live
Moving a document between draft and published can be asked for on Sanity. New work is created unpublished unless you say otherwise, because the expensive mistake in this direction only goes one way.
What the platform does not allow
Sanity is a content store, not a website, so three things other platforms offer are simply not here: menus, redirects and page-level search engine settings. Those belong to the site you built on top of Sanity, which we never see and will not pretend to manage. It also has no categories or tags of its own: if your articles are grouped, you built that, and we will not guess which of your reference fields means "tags".
What runs without asking you
Nothing that changes many documents. A bulk job is prepared, shown to you with the list of what it will touch, and waits for you to approve it — and it can be stopped while it runs. This is the one place where being slower is the feature: an automation you cannot see before it fires is an automation you will eventually regret.
Everything above describes what Sanity’s interface offers. None of it is marked verified yet, which in this product means exercised against a live installation with the date recorded.
Common questions
Will it publish things without me?
Not unless you ask it to. New work is created unpublished by default, and publishing is a separate thing to request.
Can it automate work across many documents on Sanity?
No. Sanity does not offer a way to apply one change across many documents through the interface this product uses, so bulk automation is not available here. That is a limit of the platform, said plainly rather than left for you to find out.
Is anything scheduled on your servers?
A bulk job you approved runs in batches on our side so a large one cannot overwhelm your website. Everything it does is an ordinary Sanity action, recorded against your account.
Getting started with Sanity AI Agent
Sanity AI Agent is not on sale yet. The product page tracks where it stands, and nothing is advertised before it works.
