Automation is the difference between asking for one change and asking for two hundred. This page is about the second kind on Wix: what can be done to many blog posts at once, what can be set to happen later, and — the part that matters most — what you are shown before anything runs.
Changing many blog posts at once
Not on Wix. Its interface has no safe way to apply one change across many blog posts from outside, so none is offered — one blog post at a time is what is genuinely available here.
Setting something to happen later
A future date can be set on Wix, so work prepared now can appear when you want it to. The scheduling is Wix’s own, which means it behaves exactly as it does when you set a date by hand.
Putting something live
Moving a blog post between draft and published can be asked for on Wix. New work is created unpublished unless you say otherwise, because the expensive mistake in this direction only goes one way.
What the platform does not allow
The blog, your CMS collections and your media library are reachable. Your pages are not: a Wix page is a canvas drawn in the editor and there is no API for what is on it. Nor are your menus, which have no API of any kind. A Wix site without a blog has nothing here to write to.
What runs without asking you
Nothing that changes many blog posts. A bulk job is prepared, shown to you with the list of what it will touch, and waits for you to approve it — and it can be stopped while it runs. This is the one place where being slower is the feature: an automation you cannot see before it fires is an automation you will eventually regret.
Everything above describes what Wix’s interface offers. None of it is marked verified yet, which in this product means exercised against a live installation with the date recorded.
Common questions
Can I have it publish something next Tuesday?
Yes. Wix supports a future publication date and this sets it, so the blog post appears when you asked rather than when the work was done.
Will it publish things without me?
Not unless you ask it to. New work is created unpublished by default, and publishing is a separate thing to request.
Can it automate work across many blog posts on Wix?
No. Wix does not offer a way to apply one change across many blog posts through the interface this product uses, so bulk automation is not available here. That is a limit of the platform, said plainly rather than left for you to find out.
