Wix ChatGPT Integration
Connecting Wix to ChatGPT means giving an assistant a narrow, revocable way into your own site, so that asking for a change in plain language actually changes something. This page explains how that connection is made for Wix specifically, and where it stops.
How Wix connects to ChatGPT
Wix's Blog API, reached at www.wixapis.com rather than at your own address.
An API key from your Wix account, sent with the id of the site it should act on.
What is particular to Wix
Wix only issues API keys at account level, never to a single site, so the key reaches more than this product uses. That is Wix's design rather than a choice here, and it is worth knowing before you create one.
What the platform does not allow
The blog, and nothing else. Pages, sections, the store and the design of a Wix site are not reachable by an outside service at all. A Wix site without a blog gets nothing from this product.
Which assistants this works with
Any assistant that speaks the Model Context Protocol. That includes ChatGPT and Claude today. You connect your own account — there is no separate subscription to an AI provider through us, and your conversations stay with whichever assistant you already pay for.
Everything above describes what Wix’s interface offers. None of it is marked verified yet, which in this product means exercised against a live installation with the date recorded.
Common questions
Do I need an OpenAI API key?
No. You connect the ChatGPT account you already have. Wix AI Agent is the bridge between that account and your Wix site; it is not an OpenAI reseller and does not need a key from you.
Can ChatGPT publish to my Wix site without asking?
No. Work is created unpublished wherever the platform allows it, and publishing is a deliberate, separate step. Never changing a live site without authorisation is a rule the product is built around rather than a setting.
What happens if I revoke access?
The connection stops working immediately. The credential lives on your Wix installation and is yours to withdraw at any time, without touching anything else on the site.
Getting started with Wix AI Agent
Wix AI Agent is not on sale yet. The product page tracks where it stands, and nothing is advertised before it works.
